Frequently Asked Questions

How do I request an appointment?

The easiest way is to email me directly. Include a few preferred dates and times, and I’ll respond to let you know what’s available.

Can I call you instead?

Yes! If you prefer to speak by phone, please leave a detailed voice message with your name, reason for calling, and the best time to reach you. I’ll return your call as soon as I can.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Most clients undress to their comfort level—typically down to their underwear. However, you’re also welcome to wear shorts and a sports bra or tank top if that feels better for you. You’ll always be properly draped during your session, and your comfort is my top priority.

Is the treatment painful?

You might experience a “good hurt” in areas of tension or trigger points, but it should never feel overwhelming. If you find yourself clenching your jaw or holding your breath, the pressure is likely too much. Painful treatments can cause your muscles to guard, making the work less effective. I always aim for a balance between effective and comfortable, and I’ll check in with you throughout the session.

How does Trigger Point Therapy differ from acupuncture?

While both aim to relieve pain, Trigger Point Therapy is a manual technique that uses direct pressure on muscle knots to release tension and restore mobility—no needles involved. Acupuncture, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, uses fine needles placed along energy meridians to balance the body’s internal flow. Trigger Point Therapy is anatomy-based and focused on muscular and soft tissue pain patterns.

What is Neuromuscular Cupping Therapy?

Neuromuscular Cupping Therapy combines targeted manual therapy with cupping techniques to relieve chronic pain, release trigger points, and improve mobility. Cups are placed on specific areas to lift and decompress the tissues while guiding the body through gentle movements to re-pattern dysfunctional muscle activity.

This approach improves circulation, reduces tension, and supports lasting relief from pain or restricted movement.

Will cupping leave marks?

Cupping can leave temporary circular marks or discoloration on the skin, especially in areas with tightness or stagnation. These marks are not bruises and typically fade within a few days. I’ll always explain what to expect beforehand and adjust pressure based on your comfort and skin response.

How long does it take to experience results?

It varies from person to person. Some clients feel relief after just one session, while others—especially those with chronic or long-standing pain—may need several treatments to see lasting change. My goal is always to reduce pain, improve function, and help you feel better as efficiently as possible. We’ll regularly assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

What if I’m a new client?

If this is your first visit, welcome! I’ll walk you through everything when you arrive, including your goals, your intake form, and what to expect during your session.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Not usually, but cancellations happen! Feel free to reach out—I’ll let you know if anything opens up.

How do I reschedule or cancel?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment.
